Quickstart
Our 10-minute quickstart demonstrates all major features of the AmberFlow Platform to you. This toturial requires minimal coding skills.
Prerequisites
For the toturial, you need the following.
- Access to a solar system from one of our supported systems.
1. Create your account
To create your account, please click here. Enter your work email and company info.
Welcome to the club.
2. Create your first customer
Navigate to the Customers page and click on the "+ Add customer" button. Enter the personal details of the customer you want to invite to your VPP.
Testing the customer onboarding flow yourself
Enter your personal e-mail address in "Add customer" form to receive the email on your personal e-mail.
3. Connect via Email Invite
Select the customer you just created and click on "Send Email Invite" button. This will send an email invite to the email address you just entered with an invite to connect their systems to the AmberFlow VPP.
Open the email you just received from AmberFlow and click on the "Go to Connect Portal" button. This will take you to the AmberFlow Connect Portal. Please follow the steps in the portal to connect your solar system.
4. Check out your VPP
Once connected, your systems will be visible immediately under the Customer detail page. If you go to the customer you just created you can see:
- Basic information from the solar system
- Inverters connected to the location
- The customers flexibility settings
- Forecasted and scheduled power production
Please navigate to the Curtailments page and seehow your solar forecast. Here you can see:
- Forecasted production for your entire customer portfolio
- Scheduled production (forecast power - curtailments)
- Available flexibility upward & downward
5. Control your VPP
Control your VPP with the control endpoint from the Basic API.
Testing API calls in Postman
We recommend using Postman to test our API calls.
On the Curtailment page, you can only see the aggregate results of groups. To see the individual systems that were curtailed, go the "Customers" page and select the customer you just created. You can see that you have been curtailed.
6. Verify your action in your inverter app
The quickest way to verify your curtailment is through the app from your inverter. Please open your app and see that the during the time you curtailed your VPP, your solar system was not producing power.
